Jill Kane

Superwoman? No

A chick with some great ideas? Yes

Jill is a Pittsburgh girl that believes a little organization and planning is all you need to be happy. That and a positive attitude.

“Through the years as children were added to the family, the responsibilities grew beyond belief. A system that once worked for me didn’t anymore. An unexpected brain tumor and a diagnosis of Cushing’s Disease turned our family upside down. Fighting for my life and learning new ways to make it through the day became a challenge. There were countless evenings where I was so exhausted I laid in bed with my children as they caught me up on their daily activities.

After this experience, I learned more about neurological disorders and how frequently people were facing similar challenges I struggled with. The brain is a complex organ and no one is normal, am I right?

One of the big lessons I learned was perspective. I spent so much time trying to go back to my life before the diagnosis…just trying to be normal again was all I wanted. Accepting the fact that wasn’t going to happen and moving forward was key. We are all hybrids. Our experiences, good and bad, have made us the great people we are today. I like to relate this to the caterpillar - butterfly life cycle. Through this transformation, I have focused on living life intentionally while learning new ways to be productive.

Professionally, Jill spent the majority of her career in the hospital world utilizing her organizational skills for operations management. She holds a Bachelors in Health Science Education. For the last five years, she has worked for private clients as a personal chef and home organizer. In addition, she has worked for Williams Sonoma as a design associate providing clients with inspiration and design ideas for creating beautiful and functional homes.

After spending 20 years in the sunshine state and receiving her degree at the University of Florida, she returned to her hometown of Pittsburgh to raise her family. She and her husband Rob are big Steeler fans, coffee snobs, and love home automation.
